The LDEW represents the interests of around 270 companies in the energy and water industry in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. With their services, the member companies make a significant contribution to the regional infrastructure, the local quality of life and the competitiveness of the economy. As a central interface, the association mediates between local practice and politics at state, federal and EU level.

Intensive exchange for simple processes and lean structures

“I am convinced that the interfaces with political decision-makers, committees and authorities are essential for us as a supplier. The exchange of ideas and mutual support reduces barriers and increases mutual understanding,” Arvid Blume is certain in his new role.
“We are currently in an exciting phase: key framework conditions for the energy and water industry are being renegotiated politically at European, federal and state level. There will be a new coalition in Rhineland-Palatinate.

“Over the next two years, I will be actively working on the LDEW Board to shape these framework conditions to achieve the goals of the member companies,” promises Blume. “As an initial focus, we in the association would like to present a paper with concrete proposals for efficient administration to avoid unnecessary costs for the customer.

This topic is close to my heart because it affects us all, including SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern. Simple guidelines and lean processes can actively promote the energy transition locally. To achieve this, we need a sensible basis from politicians and the authorities. Then everyone will benefit in the end: every customer and the entire region.”
