The water traffic light is green again! But we still need to use water wisely.

SWK’s water traffic light provides early information on the status of the drinking water supply. It will be switched back to green on July 8, 2026! Water withdrawal, which had temporarily reached annual peak levels of over 30,000 m³ per day, has now dropped back to around 25,000 m³ per day.

Conserving Water Resources

June 2026 is exceptionally hot and dry. Several consecutive days with temperatures reaching 35–40 degrees have resulted in the longest and most intense heat wave ever recorded in June. Please be sure to use water sparingly—we’ve got some valuable tips for you.

ALL ABOUT LOVE – New Designs for the SWK Brand Campaign

In December 2025, we launched our new branding campaign under the slogan LAUTER LIEBE. The first design featured at the time was the Christmas design. From June 22 through July 6, three additional designs from the campaign will be on display in Kaiserslautern.

Beware of misleading letters regarding the replacement of electricity meters!

Private meter operators are currently sending out letters recommending the replacement of electricity meters. Please do not let these official-looking letters pressure you into making a decision!

Arvid Blume newly elected to the LDEW Board of Directors

Dr. Arvid Blume, CEO of SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern Versorgungs-AG, was newly elected to the Executive Board of the Landesverband der Energie- und Wasserwirtschaft Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz e. V. (LDEW) by the general meeting.

Federal funding program: Up to €2,000 subsidy per new e-charging parking space

The Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) has been promoting the expansion of charging infrastructure in multi-party buildings since April 15, 2026. It is supporting the purchase and installation of non-public systems. The aim is to accelerate electromobility. Charging facilities should be available where people live. SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern is supporting the implementation as the Palatinate’s local energy partner.

Municipal heat planning – 15th Lautr Energy Forum

On March 19, 2026, the SWK Energy Forum took place for the fifteenth time at Kammgarn Kaiserslautern. The event for citizens focused on municipal heating planning. Can we make Kaiserslautern climate-neutral by 2040? What can SWK and the city do to make the energy transition a success?
