Federal funding program: Up to €2,000 subsidy per new e-charging parking space
From April 15, 2025, the Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) will be funding the expansion of charging infrastructure in multi-party buildings. The purchase and installation of systems that are not publicly accessible will be supported. The aim is to accelerate electromobility. Charging facilities should be available where people live. SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern is the local energy partner for implementation.

Applications possible from April 15 - limited volume
The application period for the funding program starts on 15 April. The total funding is limited to €500 million. Demand is expected to be high. It is therefore highly advisable for interested parties to apply as soon as possible.
Eligible are:
- Homeowners’ associations (WEG) and their homeowners
- Real estate companies with large residential portfolios
- Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
- Private owners of apartment buildings
- Owners of parking spaces
The application deadlines end on October 15, 2026 (companies with a large housing stock – as a competitive procedure) or November 10, 2026 (for WEG, SMEs and private owners of rented residential property – after receipt of the application / first come, first served).
Delivery volume and delivery amount:
Funding is provided for the purchase and installation of non-publicly accessible charging infrastructure (type 2 or CCS) including technical equipment with up to €2,000 per parking space to be electrified including charging point in and on apartment buildings with three or more residential units that are primarily intended for residential use by people.

The maximum funding amount per new charging space is €1,300 without an installed wallbox, €1,500 with a wallbox or €2,000 with a charging point that supports bidirectional charging.
The funding is provided as an earmarked project grant and is made available in the form of pro rata financing as long as funds from the total volume of € 500 million are available.

Cost-effectiveness – The subsidy reduces your own investment and shortens the amortization period.
Structure & order – A centralized solution prevents expensive and inefficient technical proliferation.
High operational reliability – thanks to uniform load management standards.
Attractiveness of your rental property – “Charging at home” is a major gain in comfort and is increasingly becoming a decision criterion when choosing a home.
Responsibility for the future – charging infrastructure provides a relevant basis for CO₂ reduction.
