The science series continues!

The science series “Kammgarn + SWK x Science” enters its second year with the Science Slam on February 11, 2026. Kammgarn Kaiserslautern and SWK Stadtwerke Kaiserslautern already presented fascinating live experiments, unusual lectures and new entertaining formats in 2025.

Science slam as scientific fireworks

Similar to the poetry slam, the “Science Slam” sees several participants compete against each other with short, snappy contributions. This is not about poems, but about short, exciting science episodes – sometimes as an experiment, often as a relaxed lecture, as an interactive presentation or however imaginatively the participant has packaged their content.

In essence, it’s about taking amazing new knowledge home with you. And with lots of laughter and in a relaxed environment. The participants each have just ten crisp minutes to present the latest findings from their research in a creative, understandable and entertaining way. And it can sometimes be bizarre. At the end, the audience decides who has given the best presentation.

The first Science Year was already a success

Last year’s Science Slam already met with a great response from the enthusiastic audience. That’s why these are the first two fixed contributions to the 2026 science series. In addition to the first event on February 11, there will probably be a second slam in October. Further Kammgarn + SWK x Science events are being planned and will be announced soon.

In 2025, “Die Physikanten” and “Professor Bummbastic” took to the stage with spectacular experiments for young and old. There were lots of bangs and flashes. The mixture of science, comedy and variety was very well received. Dr. Huber Zitt took the audience on a fascinating journey in a Star Trek spaceship. Vince Ebert provided plenty of food for thought in his science cabaret. This was science that knows no fear of contact and is fun.

Creating low barriers for great knowledge in the region

It’s great when science can be experienced by everyone in a simple and entertaining way. Especially at the science location Kaiserslautern. We are happy to support this.
